Need a tech who can work on a Sony Pro Walkman WM-D6C

I have an old one of these that is working well I would just like to bias it for the tdk tapes that I use and not the Sony ones that are no longer made. I also am possibly interested in modifying the unit to monitor from the record head instead of the input as I am noticing a big difference in the results in playback. So calibration and EQ and some basic maintenance - any suggestions?

I have one too. As I recall, the bias is adjusted by soldering pads on the pcb. It's trial and mostly error.

You first need a precision casstte alignment tape to check playback response. Usually head adjustments are needed after years of use and wear. Once done, you can play with bias. You re-set it, load tape, record, play, check, rinse and repeat. Not unlike aligning a 2 head deck, twice the time and hassle from a 3 head.
