I soldered two XLRs for i/o onto the the transformer and plugged the NS10m-as-microphone in and... nothing. I've never done anything with a transformer and a solder iron, while I have plenty of experience making/repairing cables and simple other soldering work. So I have some research to do to understand what's not happening here.

One side of the transformer has two leads, the other side has solder lugs. I didn't strip any lacquer off anything. I'll de-solder my Mogami/XLRs ends and take a look.
It's a step-up transformer to 600 ohms and I'm also starting to think I should have bought one that steps to about 200 ohms. Still worth the time to experiment, I think.
And no, I haven't measured anything with the transformer. Yet
