any mod for Furman pq6 ?

Post by sammysammmy11 » Sun Mar 30, 2014 10:22 am

Hello, I have a Furman pq6 parametric (2 ch) that i have not used in a while, Its the "black face" version, i guess thats a good thing.I'm not much of a diy guy, but thought to ask if its worth upgrading or modding, and the quality and improvement i can expect from mod, my goal is to have a good smooth 2 bus eq , for now i dont have any hardware eq for mixing, mostly plugins , you guys think its worth the time and money to do anything with this, or put it on ebay and buy something else , thanks for any input

I remember mine was a bit noisy. Don't know about mods.
Why not use it the way it is in side-chain tracking instead of on the 2-buss?
Might get some fun out of it that way. Good luck.

I tried googling for a schematic, but I'm not having much luck. Without knowing what's inside, it's hard to say what can be done.

What I do see is that they're popular with metal guitarists.

Perhaps the best way to turn it into a smooth EQ is to sell it to some shredder dude, and build something better suited? Baxandalls aren't too tough to build.
"What fer?"
