Humidify ac. gtr. in laundry room?
Humidify ac. gtr. in laundry room?
I don't wanna case my acoustics, and I have a big laundry room that's always humid from the dryer.
Am I a genius to think about this, or an idjit?

The venting is there, but the room still gets quite humid - condensation, even, on the windows, etc.
I have teenage kids, including a daughter - the washer and dryer usually go every or every other day ... but yeah, sometimes only twice a week.
In the cold, sober light of morning, prob'ly not as good a idear even as when I considered hanging 'em on the bathroom wall.
Eh, the guitars, not the kids.

Maybe not the best idea. If it's so humid that condensation is forming it's going to be out of the ideal range for an acoustic. iirc you want to shoot for around 50-60% humidity. Plus, the wild fluctuations when somebody runs the dryer aren't to be desired. Stability (temperature as well as humidity) is good for storing acoustic instruments.

Dude,
Check yer venting. That's not right. How long has it been since you've had the vent cleaned? Is it a gas drier? 'Cause that could get you into some deep doo doo if it is clogged. Even still, if it's clogged, and dries out, you could have yerself quite a fire.
dude
And yeah, um, no, fer the gits.

My whole family almost died of carbon monoxide poisoning when we lived in Greece. We were all sleeping in the one room with the propane heater. Somebody decided to roll up a towel and shove it under the door to keep the heat in and close the windows tight, etc. If my mom hadn't woked up in the middle of the night and realized that she felt hung over but hadn't drunk anything the night before, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
I bet it's never even occurred to you, Trip-V, to use a little "Duct" tape on the situation. Maybe try the silver, aluminum kind that really works.

Thanx guys, I guess I really do seem like a idjit posting sometimes.
That said, yes, in the past it has come disconnected and filled the room with humdiddity and, no doubt, CO1, but that's been fixed and I do check it every now and then.
So in general, it's well connected and clean and with the washer going the room is still pretty humid, hence my inspiration.
Now, I'm washing my hoondies and feel real sleepy so I'll just lay down here next to the clothes basket and ...
