Is there a way to buzz out a condenser element? Should it show up as a capacitor, and if so, what sort of range? (Using a Fluke 87)
Trying to figure out if the element in this PZM is the problem.

The previous statement is from a guy who records his own, and other projects for fun. No money is made.
electret elements often have an integrated buffer, so a capacitance reading won't be helpful. raw condenser elements are under 100pF, generally (thus the high impedance nature of the surrounding circuitry).
might be easier to go the other way: (carefully) inject signal at the capsule and see if the rest of the mic works properly.
