My first 16 track studio ran on one of these + its little brother the 208 for fx returns etc.
The 208 stayed in use for some time after that as a monitor mixer. Now it's with a drummer friend who occasionally needs a crunchy submixer to bus down mics before they hit her interface.
Glad to hear you got it for free! Just did a quick internet scope and they're selling for $1k plus I think I paid $70 for mine... what a joke!
The EQ is horrible in a really colorful, interesting way and the mid band can be made to ring quite a lot if cranked & overdriven, which can sound cool! I also feel like it's a great gain-staging boot camp. If you hate headroom, you will love this mixer!
All jokes aside congratulations and I can see how it could fill a particular lo-fi niche in the arsenal. And that color scheme! Wishing you many hours of enjoyment.
