All the typical signs:goose wrote:How is this a scam? (other than I'd never buy something this expensive from

1) Just registered
2) Zero feedback
3) Selling a high-end item for low $
4) Registered in United Kingdom and currency is GBP, but location is Australia
5) Payment by wire transfer only
6) 3 day listing
They're unknown, they're selling too cheaply, they want the sale over quickly and they want their payment made in a way that leaves you no recourse.

Re: Focusrite Red 7 eBay scam
I just sent the seller an email asking if this unit has the "inverted, bi-polar output transformer" and whether it is wired for 220v or 90v. Let's see what their response is.

Re: Focusrite Red 7 eBay scam
I suppose that's more subtle than asking if he upgraded to the 'flux' capacitors instead of the stock ones.

Re: Focusrite Red 7 eBay scam
I just sent a question asking if it has "LRF" support. For those not in the know, this stands for Little Rubber Feet. I never buy anything without little rubber feet support.
I'll post any response I get here.

It was an amusing exchange with the seller; still, I'm glad no one got burned.

Re: Focusrite Red 7 eBay scam
DAMN! I've been looking for a Red 7 with BOTH the inverted bipolar xformer AND LRF support! They just don't make those any more! I'm so disappointed to find out this is a scam

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.
