Well recorded/produced music that you don't like

The Eagles. The production is phenomenal. But they've got no edge, and the singers sound like sibilant foo foo rockers.

1. The Billy Talent debut CD on Atlantic. The ultimate in professional ProTools recording and sound. Modern nu-punk/pop sound, crunchy in-the-box guitar tones are all there, modern as heck. Why pay $ to hear a total ripoff/bad impersonation of Johnny Rotten when the real thing is still alive? This band's lead singer's uniqueness & originality can fit on the head of a pin.

2, Any recent Steely Dan recording made after 1990. Pick one.

3, Any "smooth jazz" recording. Pick one.

evanesence.
Man they spent alot of time and effort recording some of the most trite shit ever. Full orchestras on a sound stage and Josh freeze of a perfect circle and the Vandals on drums. I wish some other bands had that kind of a budget.
I got a doctorate in cold rockin it.

It's weird that you think that he's unoriginal. I can't think of anyone who sounds like him, and not in a good way. It's really tough for me to think of anything that completely and totally awful. He's got one of the worst voices I've ever heard, and then when he starts shrieking it's exactly the same, only louder. The fact that the vocals are mixed up really high (at least on the single I saw on Fuse) only pours gasoline on your already festering wound before throwing a lit match at you. I can't figure out who actually likes that band. Bands like that are a dime a dozen, so you can throw a rock out your window and hit one that doesn't have one of the worst singers to ever walk the face of the earth.

Anyways, my vote goes for Linkin Park. Their records are pretty flawless and they obviously put a ton of effort into autotuning and quantizing and squashing it to hell, but I'm not feeling it at all. I will say that it's totally impressive that they put that much work into making it, but it's way too polished for my taste and I hate nu metal. I second the good Doctor's opinion that I wish a million other bands had that kind of budget.

Wow, I never thought someone would say Queens of the Stone Age. Oh well, to each his own right?

My pick would be anything Metallica made after ...And Justice For All...

Oh yeah, and Pig Destroyer!!! ROCK!!!!

And all of the ones made before 1990. Oh god no, not another Steely Dan thread!

Y'know, I also have to put my vote in for the Corona Valley Ranch Hotel and Casino radio spot sung by Kenny Rogers. And he's all talkin' up San Diego too... shit, ain't nothin' goin' on down there except the weather. Sorry, don't mean to dis San Diego, but I can't remember the last time I was so bored.
