Angry:

Yeah, The filter is sick. It is gonna be like a mutator, but more flexible and super quiet and with tons of headroom. Awesome.

I believe the list is going to be 2900 dollars for the NY2A, which is a steal for the kind of quality and versatility you get with this unit.

The fact that Greg Calbi "had" to have one at Sterling means a lot, as does doug henderson saying, "WOW" about 5 times on the phone with me.

Now I am freaking out over this thing.

haha... the site says:

List $<strike>899.00</strike>

Music Toyz Price $2099.95

Glad to know I don't have to pay that awful list price of $899!

I just got off the phone with EH, and the list IS gonna be 2900 dollars, but that is obviously not the street price.

Also: I guess they are releasing (sometime, who knows when) a "white finger" FET based compressor pedal that is simply the FET version of the "blackfinger" comp pedal.

Should be cool. Look for the full review with lots of info from the extensive documentation in the next issue of TapeOp.....

Hey Joel,

Don't take this the wrong way, but this isn't going to be one of those reviews like, "Well, I've got a prototype and it might be like this and it should be like this and hopefully it'll be out in less than a year," will it? I remember you talking about this thing last June. Do they have a ship date yet? One of the things I love about TapeOp is that they generally review stuff that's out already. I hate reading about all this vaporware stuff in other mags.

To clarify:

I just got off the phone with the man who designed this great piece of gear,
And IT IS AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW DIRECTLY FROM ELECTRO HARMONIX!!!!!

It is official. You heard it here first! JC said there was an initial run of 50, of which
We got one at studio G, and there are way more in production right now. This thing is the JAM. There are a bunch of units available right now at EH, and you can call them yourself and tell them you want one right away!!!!!

The designer, JC, got an email today at EH and saw this thread, and called me right away to claify this.

If you want one, call them!

They will start showing up in catalogs soon, but you can get them now.

Tell them joel sentcha!

718-937-8300 is the number for New Sensor/ Electro Harmonix here in NYC.

Hey Joel, instead of writing a regular review, why don't you do a Behind the Gear piece? EHX is really kicking ass these days and I'd like to know where the idea for this compressor and filter came from, and why they decided to start making pro audio gear. As long as you're going to review the box anyhow, and you know these guys...

I'm also looking forward to trying out the Tube EQ stompbox and the Poly Octave Generator, which does both one and two octaves UP! The description says YES, YOU CAN PLAY CHORDS!, which is about the most tantalizing thing I've heard in a stompbox ad in awhile!

For a little demo, and a whole lot of this one guy saying "uh, uh" check out this Realmedia video clip.

Sorry, I'm harsh on bad public speakers....

Inverseroom,
I already wrote the review to sneak it in the next issue, to get the SCOOP!;)

Anyway, try calling that number just to hear the awesome brooklyn accent describing the new releases!!!

Awesome.

I love that company. I will post an off topic "behind the scenes" scoop that answers your questions as to why the hell this thing exists.....

Wow, that was a painfully bad presentation. Crappy speaker, and no good demo of the unit's capabilities without that dude "um, uh"-ing all over it.
