Yeah, he plays simple beats and has close to metronomic rhythm. He's fucking horrible!!!

I havr to disagree. The drummer on Good News is extremely technical. You really have to have an ear to hear it. His snare fills and ghost notes are really nice. His name is Ben Weikel. His band is called "The Helio Sequence". They're pretty good. Trashy pop electronic. lots of vintage synth sounds.

I agree, I like the drumming on "Good News..." as well. I think it's very tasty and the moments are well chosen. There isn't much about it that screams "I am a great drummer, hear me roar," but he does many subtle things that make me very happy.

For those that didn't understand, I was being sarcastic. I think he's really good too.

His snare fills and ghost notes are really nice.

What the HELL is a ghost note?

You know those notes that smother you when you're asleep, turn the dryer on at 4 in the morning, run around upstairs all night scaring the fuck out of you so you can't get back to sleep. real pain in the ass compared to the mice i have to deal with.

The drummer on "this is a long drive" is almost unbearable on some tracks. The hits are so sloppy that I figure lots of alcohol or something might be involved. I like so much of the record (and some of the drumming even) but parts are RIDICULOUS.
Which drummer is that?
It's nice to be nice to the nice.
