when i'm punching on pro tools, i use the ring finger on my right hand for the 3 key on the numeric keypad... but then again, in pro tools i can just trim the ins and outs of the punch... so...

Middle finger on the right hand or index finger on the left. I'm still in the habit of holding the "play" key down the same time as the record key. That way, I'll never forget which systems require this action (as opposed to just hitting the record key). I'm so much faster when I work in a studio with the remote on the right.

Left handed...middle finger on play, index to punch.

I still "roll the transport" on workstations... a habit I can't seem to break.

If I am playing, it's my left foot. Sometimes no shoe.

I really use my whole hand, but lead by my middle finger, after all it's the longest. I always slap my hand / finger down really fast like I just called "Domino!" I don't know why except that I guess I think if I push it really fast and hard that it will punch in tighter.

The weirdest thing is I seem to use either hand for punches and deck transport. Not even sure if I use the same fingers...
