which mic pres don't clip?

which mic pres don't clip?

hi i was wondering if anyone knew of serveral mics pres that can't be clipped. let me know.

I would guess that the earthworks pre would be hard to clip (although I've never used one, so I can't say for sure):

On the less esoteric side of things, the Aphex 207 has a hard limiter.

Every mic pre will clip the signal if this input signal exceeds its max headroom. I would say look for a mic pre that has a headroom of +27dBu or greater and also includes pads and/or variable input sensitivity and you'll be in good shape.
