notice the trend? it applies here too sometimes
Re: notice the trend? it applies here too sometimes
I found these sites of interest:
www.sylvania.com
http://www.ge.com/en/product/home/lighting.htm
At the GE site, there's a story about them selling the 100,000,000,000th Reveal? light bulb. I wonder how they figured that out.
Also, I noticed that Sylvania refers to them as 'lamps', but GE refers to them as 'light bulbs'.

hang on, are we talking about analog light bulbs or digital light bulbs?

3 to say that the incandescence from lightbulbs is too harsh; that's why they only use candles
3 to argue that there is absolutely no difference between light bulbs and candles
1 to tie this all in to how the lightbulb industry has changed for the worse in the last 20 years

You meant lamps, right?? Please tell me you meant lamps! It's pointless discussing light bulbs here really, when there's a whole thread of it in the gear reviews!
CCPP
The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

I'm thinking of putting in LEDs instead of lightbulbs.
Actually, I'm serious about that. Ignore me.

I'm currently running NOS GE Bulbs. Sure they cost a bit more, but woe! Talk about warm light!friendlybunny wrote:In the Tapeop forum you would have 6 people arguing over how much you should pay for a new or used lightbulb.

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid

don't worry we don't need to track, we'll fix it later!

Who's had a positive experience with the new Soft White bulbs? I've heard they cast a really cool light, but then my buddies say that the GE 25W halogen is really nice too.

I use candles for light. You get nice analog, warm, vintage glow, rather than the digital light you get from a blub or lamp. The only thing light bulbs are good for is eating...when they are on fire of course.

Shouldn't there be an item in the list like
"12 to tell you how much better Steve Albini can do it."
Just trying to be helpful...

Those Scandanavian blue 'daylight' bulbs (for Ennuits who get SAD and stuff) are SHITE!!! They're about as natural as my arse.motormantra wrote:Who's had a positive experience with the new Soft White bulbs? I just think the lightbulb should stay the same wonderful bulb it has always been. Why go a'changin'?
Re: notice the trend? it applies here too sometimes
Can anyone recommend a good lightbulb for 3 cents?
