make me laugh.

The yin to inhumentor's wang. I meant yang. So yeah - what songs make you laugh?? And I don't mean laugh at them 'cos they're so shite, but for whatever other reason. One that always makes me grin, if not ell oh ell, is by Guided by Voices. It's called Marchers in Orange. It's just Pollard and a pump organ or something. He kicks in with this absurdly audacious vocal line - I dunno, it's just got this weird level of (over?) confidence. Also on the same LP (Vampire on Titus), a track called Jar of Cardinals. This time it's 'cos of his weird "English" accent. I just have to have a little snigger at the way he sings out in this really proud voice. Fucking great.

I can't help laughing when Marc Bolan counts 'One, a-two, a-buckle-my-shoeee!' on "Lean Woman Blues."

"No Flow For The Ho's" by Black Tea. I found this as a 45 rpm single labeled "The World's Worst Rap," and I'm still not sure if it's just a big put-on or a demo by some woefully untalented schmoe. It's about a guy who goes to a club and pick up a pair of girls who later rob him. It's hard to put down into words, but basically Black Tea gets confused in the middle of his rap, starts saying one thing and then changes his mind and says something else:

You took her hand
And you were...on your...way.
She said she had a friend
You didn't want to be rude, so you said 'ok'
To them. To the...to the movies.
And then to a hotel
You got butt naked
And fucked them both
The next morning you woke up
And they were gone
They took your money
You fuckin' dummy!

Bonzo Dog Band "The Intro & The Outro"

David Bowie "Breaking Glass." The whole song's funny, but I especially love that one bit where he goes "Don't look at the carpet/I drew something awful on it/See..." and right after he says the word "see," there's this little three-note doodly synthesizer thing, that's like a really weird sound, and it's just...it cracks me up, coz to me in my mind when I hear the synth sound it's like I see David Bowie sitting in a chair with his orange hair and Berlin coat, waving his hand, pointing at the carpet...

That Celtic Frost song, the first song on "To Megatherion" -- I don't remember the name but it's the one that has the kettle drums in it -- it's just this hilarious, bombastic sludgy heavy metal thing with tympani and Wagnerian brass. Totally nuts. And I even talked to the guy (Tom Warrior) about it one time, and he was kinda like, "oh yeah, we knew that was over the top."

That scream in Slayer's "Reign In Blood" at least makes me grin every time, if not laugh out loud.

Also, god help me, "Mahna Mahna." You'd be hard pressed to top "Mahna Mahna." Really.
"Every song needs a cranked marshall for mojo, even if decorum requires muting the track."

Oh wow...I forgot...here are some other songs on that site for your appreciation...and their descriptions...

"I Want to Be a Mother", by Mormon Kids

Mormons = creepy. Mormon kids = creepier

"Giant Tickle Feather", by CB Kids

I'm pretty sure this is inappropriate touching and a social worker should be contacted

"Octopus Woman Let Me Go", by Dick Kent

Kinda sounds like "Cherokee Nation", except with an under-the-sea theme.
