If you know the bpm for the click in Nuendo try this...

Use ACID software and get some drum loops CDs (try Beta Monkey). Adjust the BPM to match your song. When you are finished writing the drum loops, import back into Nuendo as an audiofile then remix.

I dont know if this will help now. But when I am doing demos for songs Ive written, I sit down with a guitar and open up Reason and hash out the whole song with electronic drums. When everything is feeling right, bring it into your program (Pro Tools, Nuendo) as individual audio tracks. From there you can do everything else. Makes it alot more fun to overdub everything with the drums down already, instead of the other way around.
