compressing at half speed
Re: compressing at half speed
You should be able to get a super fast attack by doing it in the box with a look ahead compressor. However your way might be more fun or sonically interesting.

I've done this before. It's an old trick. It works really well on room mics and overheads. And you can get away with more extreme compression. You'll have to play around with it to dial it in but it's a cool trick.

Take it one step further. Fiip the tape over and compress the track while it's playing in reverse. Print the reverse compressed signal. When this track is played forward, the compression has zero attack time.

Do you have to chant satanic stanzas while performing that technique?

Yes. You do.

Re: compressing at half speed
if you flip the tape and record "paul is dead miss him miss him" when you play it forward, does that make it satanic?
would it have been too much to ask for mark david chapman to have hit the small asian woman instead?
damn.
dear yoko, the real source of satanic prowess on earth: I think you should let paul use "yesterday" on his fucking record, ok? The world will be fucked until a lennon inherits the publishing which you control.
I also hope mark david chapman makes parole, what can the world gain by keeping that guy locked up?
woops, I digressed.
