Cheers, Devlars!
I just pulled the discs on mine and I like them better. Where do I get replacement diaphragms for these, hee hee hee.

Re: Oktava MK-319 mic review
I'm still waiting to have someone offer to do a mod on the MK319 and take lots of detailed photos and post a DIY article much as Auralman is doing with the ML52. I'd do it myself, if I knew how, thus the push for the project. Anyone care to take on the task?

Re: Oktava MK-319 mic review
There's a photo of my Oktava MK-319 "bottle" mod at the bottom of my eBay auction for my omni-directional modified MK-219:

Very cool Michael, very cool. I enjoyed the technical write-up. The bottle mod rocks; what kind of head is on there?
I have a pair of 012's and will love them forever. How can you possibly modify the 012 with a tube pre? Doesn't the modification have to fit inside the body?
Also, (sorry for all the questions) how does the low end range compare on your 219 mod with the orignial pickup config?

oh, what you see is a '319 body that's been hacked. The original head grille assembly has been re-aranged and the original capsule installed. A little bit of metal work here and there...and Oktava bottle appears.
re: MC-012 Tube type mode -
a 5840 pentode fits in just fine, I got the idea from Dave Royer's tube mod of the small diaphragm ADK mic
later, MJ

Devlars, I noticed your link to a Rexrode records. You don't happen to have family in Williamsburg, Virginia, do you?
