dumb question??????

has anyone ever tried using a digital console with a multitrack tape machine? what happened? or am I nuts for even entertaining the idea?

in what configuration? is the board converting the signal? Do you need timecode chasing?? what is master/ slave?

a friend of mine asked me this question and I dont have an answer for him, he is thinking DM24 for pre's, effects, routing, automation, with a multitrack tape machine, I've never heard of this being done but there is plenty I dont know

I think that Markpar uses a digital console with a tape machine you could maybe ask him about what he does..
