I meant to say: He might know someone who can. I don't think he can himself.

Send an email to Tom Herbers at Third Ear Recording

info@thirdearrecording.com

He probably won't respond immediately, he's doing a few shows right now in the east with Alan Spa... (the guy from Low).

Scrap it dude... save your girlfriend a headache and go digital. Call me a sell out... I'll be a sell out with two legs.

Just wondering why you are looking for a place other than American Pro Audio? Is it a cost thing, a service thing, or something else. I had Scott setup my Otari MX5050 two track. He did a good job and I didn't think that it was that bad cost wise.

Have you tried the Good Guys on Grand Ave in St. Paul? I know that they do equipment repair. I assume that they will calibrate a deck as well.

Just wondering,

Being that you will need to calibrate, check the bias and your reference tones nearly every time you use the machine you might as well learn to do that stuff yourself. There is a guy who teaches a calibration class at Hennepin Tech College in Eden Prairie named Steve Hanson who happens to go way back with Scott. Take the class and save yourself some money over the long haul.

Does anyone know if the Good Guys will calibrate an analog reel to reel deck? Just wondering.
