Studio Projects C3 - opinions?

Do any of you folks have or have used one of these mics?
$350 is a decent price for a multi-pattern mic - how's it sound?

I have one...and i love it...worth every penny

I A/B'd it with Lawson L47 (i believe it's a Neumann U47 clone) and it's pretty dead on similar....the bass is a little more pronounced and round on the L47 than on the C3...

And considering it's 1600 dollars cheaper than the Lawson, i'd highly recommend you check one out...

I use it also for a room mic on drums...sometimes even on figure 8....pop it on figure 8 and everything opens up!

I got mine from www.micguys.com

good luck,
mat

the C3 is amazing. i have done recordings where this was the ONLY mic I used. from kik to AC to vox, this mic really does it all really well. i love the C3. it has an amzing presence. not a single complaint.

Check out the January issue of Recording magazine (just got it yesterday). They reviewed the C1, C3, and T3. With the C3 they really liked the figure 8 and omni patterns but thought the cardioid was a little dull in the high frequency range compared to the C1. They were floored by the C1 on everything.

I've used the C3 on tenor saxophone and on male vocals (a big, powerful baritone). I didn't care for it on sax, but it sounded fantastic on the vocals. Very full and BIG.
