The L train and the G train literally have a stairway right at the studio's door, hence "studio G."
You can get the path train from jersey, to the L train in manhattan and get off at "lorimer" and we are right up the stairs.
Studio G is 448 union ave.
Check the "studio G Brooklyn" site below for driving and train directions.

Day one ruled.
LOTS of cool info so far. Just trying to soak in as much as possible.
Makes me realise how much more I could be doing with routing on my board when mixing.
The biggest take-away message for me today was the idea of sending the same (or similar) signal (various drum channels for example) to different compressors and treating them differently to get emphasis on different parts of the sound (the initial twack, or the body, or the bloom of the decay in the room mic)
Definitely hasn't decreased my gear lust but has reminded me that I already have a lot of the tools necessary. May not be the sexiest models but stuff that will function in a similar manner.

Day Two rocked just as hard. Lots of new topics but more time to dig into the details of some of Day One's topics and demo them.
I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested.
I feel inspired. I'm going straight into the studio tomorrow to try some of this stuff out.

Hey Joel
I had a blast that weekend as I'm sure everyone involved also did. I would def. be up for another if the topic was a bit different. Maybe we could do a tracking session with a band. 1 song, start to finish. That would be awesome.
Hope all is well

Right on, man. That sounds like a good idea... the tracking 1 song start to finish thing... Maybe I can get someone good in, so we can make something really cool together!

I was thinking the same thing. I'd definitely be in again if that were the case.

Hey Steve-
I pm'd you...
Have you been using any of Joel's sage techniques form the workshop? Seems like even just drum mic wise I am doing different things now. I have yet to set up a parallel comp mix, although I was using a stereo variation before. I'm still trying to squeeze all of that info from my notes...
Cheers,
Josh

Hey, I'd love to hear the monitor review as well...
I've yet to put any of it to use. I've been laid out with sinus and ear infections that still have me not really able to hear out of my right ear... hoping this hasn't caused permanent effect...
