Looking For A Studio In San Francisco For A Week

Post by audioscott » Sat Sep 23, 2006 3:44 pm

Hey There,

I'm looking for a studio in the San Francisco area to track a band for about 6 days straight at the beginning of December. Drums, bass, guitars, vocals and possibly some keys (if you have any). I'll be flying down there from Seattle, and I'll be doing all the engineering, so I'll just need an assistant who knows the room.

What I need is a price range between $300 and $400 a day, good size live room (my live room at my studio is 23'X45'X12'). It doesn't have to be huge, but that would be nice! Looking for a good pro tools setup (not an 002). Decent mics (a couple of U87s, R121's, 421's etc.). I'll be bringing the project back up to Seattle to mix at my place.

More info if you think you can help. Thanks.

Check out the studios listed on the AES panel. There's about six of 'em if I remember correctly.

John is great at TT.

You should check him out. Neve 5316, cool rooms, good vibe.

I am doing a record there with a band called "sleepytime gorilla museum" later this month.

Hi Scott-
I shot you an email as well, but...
Check out my place, Sharkbite Studios. Lots of mics, a Trident TSM that has been recently overhauled by John Klett, PT HD3, Otari 2" 24, Ampex 440 1/4" and lotsa other stuff. The website and myspace leave something to be desired, picture-wise. There will be more photos soon. The live and control rooms are both of good size and there are three iso booths plus a lounge. Look us up! Cheers,
Ryan
ps. you couldn't go wrong with Tiny Telephone or Coast, either...
