Free mastering/duplication...

Post by strdsk » Mon Jul 06, 2009 1:02 am

Hey all,
Hope all is well! A few months ago, I saw someone on here who posted a very clever thread. They had x amount of dollars in their PayPal account and was willing to forward it to the person who offered them the coolest item for that amount. The person wasn't looking for anything in particular...they just had a few bucks burning a hole in their pocket and was open to scoring a new found trinket...that post was lots of fun to follow.
Here, I am offering you free mastering and/or duplication through the Chicago based service I own and run. You mail me the tracks and I'll master them and/or dupe them for free...I can even provide you with packaging options (jewel cases etc.) if need be. While I do not really offer printing services, I am open to any fair number of songs to master and any amount of CDs to provide you with. I prefer keeping it a short run, but pending on what you wanna' swap me for...that is also negotiable. I just want you to offer me a swap. I'm open to any cool ideas but I favor mics, instruments, and cool tube pres or racked EQ units. Duplicators, ironically, are also cool too...lol! PM me if you're at all interested...best...JD!

Along with having your standard digital tools I have several custom analog pieces that were built for me...two of which were custom done by Nate Dort here from the boards. I get great results. www.myspace.com/tonaleclipsestudio

Thanks Kevin! I believe that you and I have had dealings before...I just can't remember on what. I do remember your name and talking with you on the phone though and I do remember that the transaction was a successful one.

this is great. really great. thanks for being open to bartering for such services. so cool.

But you might want to change your headline to something like "Trade for mastering/duping..." or "Barter" or whatever, because you're not actually offering a free service.

EDIT: Did I read this wrong? Maybe you only want a trade if you're doing more than X amount of work?

I followed my post title with ... signifying there was more to the thought or sentence...lol! In all honesty, it got your attention didn't it? If I pur the word trade or barter people are quick to gloss right over the post I've found.

Personally, I like looking to see what people have to barter and what they are looking for. It's fun. I check out the barter section on craigslist all the time.

Then again, I've never actually bartered anything, since nobody has ever had anything I was interested in trading for...at least, not when I had what the person wanted. I am open to the whole thing, though.

Anyway, this sounds like a cool idea. I hope you make a cool trade :)

I was just kidding, I don't have any nu-metal or slam-death friends.

But if I find someone who really needs this service and isn't going to abuse it, I will forward them on!

Hi - are you still doing this? If so, do you have any before/after examples of your mastering work? Thanks!
