perfect sound for that kinda stuff
what mics do you use? i like that bright but gritty acoustic guitar sound on the second tune. drums sound great too on the first track

Awesome stuff!
I record, mix, and master in my Philly-based home studio, the Spacement. https://linktr.ee/ipressrecord

thanks everyone ... just saw all these replies today !

mics were mostly old Shure and EV dynamics. Shure SM-53 and 545 or EV 635a for the acoustic guitar. I think the SM-53 for clip #2, though an LA-610, to an Ampex AG-300 8-track. Mixed to an Ampex 440 1/4".

Here's one more (best of the lot, I think)!:

another one to promote a new cassette-only (no download!) comp:

... this one is a working of a Harry Nilsson (unreleased) Monkees demo. Tried to make it sound like what the Monkees might have done with it:

Appreciate any feedback!
