sounds good. the whistling is particularly well executed and recorded.

funny you should mention EQs, because on my monitors (KRK RP5) i'm hearing something odd in the highs range in the vocal track...like sort of a ringing high frequency. i hear it especially during the second syllable of the word "deserve" in the first verse, and the word "hands" in the first chorus. it's not so much there in the rest of the song, which confuses me even more.

it's really high...like near dog-whistle range...

Very nice!

I think what stands out to me is how heavily compressed everything sounds.

It's a neat effect. Were you going for that?

It makes all the breaths really loud. I think that's contributory to the 'whistling' heard by the previous poster. It does give it a unique quality though.

pretty cool, and yes, the whistling is awesome! i've just been working on something with whistling, too! personally, i can live with the heavy compression, but that vocal sounds a bit comb filtered. my first thought was "de-ess" but...i think there's some weird cancellation going on.
