unemployed polaroids

As of late, I've been a little sick of the 'waiting game' that goes along with releasing albums... (mastering, packaging, promo, etc.)

So, for fun, I'm releasing little miscreant folk/country songs as I finish them...

There's one up so far.

The mix definitely could use some shaping (seems a little bass heavy)...
and my drumming is fairly lame. But, hopefully the songs shine through.
The notion was to not dwell too long on the mixes, and just get them out there... if I end up putting these all together for a release, there'll be some more mixing, mastering, etc.

Untreated basement, tascam 2488, and some mid-range mics.

Thanks for the listens...

A few more have been added to the pile...

For Mics: the SM7b has been worked to death on vocals and guitars.

Drums: D112, and an AKG C451 was on a mic stand nearby, so it became my single overhead...

On a few songs, for kick I used a home-built 'porchboard', and overdubbed the snare after the fact.

I'm working out the upcoming song, which has about 30-some violins overdubbed, and tracked in my 1970's bathroom... (the blue toilet and bathtub are excellent for tone... lol)

Some of these are messy, but it's been fun... I've seen some incoming hits from here, so I do appreciate the plays... thanks.
