THE NEXT DAY - DAVID BOWIE.
I am so happy Tony Visconti produced this album.
Listening to David never gets old.
There is actual dynamic range in the mixes. My meters are happily bouncing up and down, instead of the usual "buried at the top" like other modern albums.
Love it.
The songs are classic Bowie.

Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

I'm enjoying it too. Bowie's voice may not be at it's strongest, but he's using it well anyway, which is always good to hear.
Dave over at SonicScoop did an interview with the engineer on that one: http://www.sonicscoop.com/2013/03/11/en ... j-mcnulty/

A nice interview with Tony Visconti on Sound Opinions last week:

Had a co-worker playing the whole album last week. I wasn't that taken with the "rockers", but the original single that was released is a song that I really like a lot.
I realize that it's difficult at best to release a whole rock album of songs that don't, um, rock, but some artists do their best work in the atypical song formats. The first track off "Heathen" would be a good example.
