Northern Arms first single is out today

Post by Jeff White » Tue Mar 04, 2014 8:36 am

During the past few weeks I've been asked to finish up tracking for Philly's Northern Arms debut LP that will be released this summer. Brian McTear over at Miner Street Studios and Jeff Zeigler at Uniform Recording have done half of the record, and my buddy Mike Kennedy (who is an 3 time Emmy Award winning engineer for NFL Films and also an ex-member of Matt Pond PA, as well as a founding member of Lefty's Deceiver) recorded basics for another 4 songs (and also played drums and percussion on them). This record is filled with heavy-hitters at the desk. I'm really excited about working with all of them on this record.

I'll be cutting vocals, horns, guitars, keys, and bells for four songs starting tomorrow night over at my place. Really psyched.

As fate would have it they also just lost a bass player due to creative differences. I miss playing bass in a band, so after an audition on Sunday I'm now a part of the fun. 10-piece dark Americana from here in Philadelphia.

The first single, recorded and mixed by Jeff Zeigler (The War On Drugs, Kurt Vile, Purling Hiss) was just released today on iTunes and Spotify. Here is a nice write-up about the band and the single by Bruce Warren at WXPN here in Philly.

Really excited to be a part of this going forward.
