you know, actually, the guy i just bought mine from had my Topaz serviced at some point from Steve in Long Island. that was about 3-4 years ago though I believe.
now I have a dead channel, a non working talkback, and a couple flighty tape returns. there is a guy here local who said he'd do some work on it...not a "soundtracs guy" per se, but I'm confident he can get it back up to speed.
the parts that DO work on it, work well. its a nice sounding board...

Has anyone had any luck buying off of people on Craig's list? Every time I find a good deal on there for something I need, the person won't ship it. I stopped looking there because nobody seemed willing to sell to me. Unfortunately where I am (Wisconsin), there's no active craigs list type stuff going on.

I don't think you'll get many people willing to ship on craigslist. The market--especially for audio--is pretty much set by the eBay gold standard these days. Everyone knows this, of course, so I'd say most people that list stuff on craigslist thought about eBay first and nixed the idea..some people would rather take a $40 hit on the price of an $800 amp to not wait 6 days for an auction, then another 6 for the buyer to send payment (and/or clear), then pack and ship the damn thing, and instead have some dude come to his house and pick it up.
