o yeah q and not u was here last october and that was amazing!
anyway,
I was only able to listen to one of the clips "devices" i believe it was called and it sounded great. That guy has a great voice. Very clean recording with nice guitar tone! Drums sound great also. My damn modem kept dropping out parts of the song and chopping up the drums but I got the jist of it. I wish him the best on his tour. Definately worth a listen.

Boston is next to impossible to get a show unless you are signed or have a decent booking agent. We have neither, and without at least three months advance notice it'll never happen for us.

But on a larger note, why doesn't anyone play Richmond? It's a great town but -- oh yeah, forgot -- nowhere except two ridiculous clubs to play. The gallery/alternative venue scene is starting to happen though, but it's really our own damn fault that everyone skips this town.

Anyone want to start a "truly" underground network of galleries, warehouses and unique "other" places to play? Alcohol a plus, but not a requirement. Conducive atmosphere a must.

ALright, rant over.

Yes I have. In fact, that's where we found this wierd place to play in Brooklyn when we did a short tour in the Spring. BYOFL is cool, but seems overrun with places that last about 20 minutes. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but a lot of the punk places are great but not what we're looking for with what we have (read: highly sensitive instruments). We really need a good buffer zone. It's a good place to look if you really need a show, though.

BOOKING INFO: Please know that the XXX is an apartment building not a club.

I hate to sound judgemental, but here goes. If you could separate BYOFL by age group of venue owner, it would be perfect. I guess what I'm looking for is a lot harder to find, and relies upon the awkward one-off events, abandoned movie theaters, warehouses, larger spaces, galleries, or the occasional vacant depot down by the river. Every city has them, why aren't they utilized?

I see a lot of people buying up these abandoned warehouses and turning them into apartments all the time. There have to be people doing the same but making them galleries, and alternative venues as well.

But I'll keep BYOFL in mind. Definitely a good resource even if it's oriented toward younger/punk things.
