Asshole...
Asshole...
Some asshole stole my name and won't give it back. I use it interchangeably with "Token" so that when I'm pissed off, I turn into Token, like the Hulk... but more fucked up. Token is my inner pissed off, disenfranchised, minority self... much like "DUC", but more so.
Re: Asshole...
You can have it back if you are nice.
Re: Asshole...
What is this thing you call "nice"?
Re: Asshole...
OK it is yours. You owe me $5. Paypal is fine.

Guitar duel like in the movie, Crossroads.

Re: Asshole...
Here is the funny thing about the guitar duel in Crossroads:
The entire movie is built up to make the viewer think that "real" music comes from the heart and from "real" people. And to find the "real" music you have to go to music's roots and learn from those who live and suffer.
Ralph's character, being a Juliard student, really couldn't play "real" music, because his head was so filled with the corrupting influence of classical music. So he travelled to the south, met with the non-whites. Learned how to play "The Blues".
Finally, he meets the Devil, played by Steve Vai, at the Crossroads. They get stuck in a deadlock- unlike when the Devil met the Charlie Daniel's Band and clearly played the superior solo, but strangely lost according to the song. Mr. Macchio proceeds to play a classical piece he was working on at Juliard- the Devil trys to match him and cannot. Victory to Ralph Macchio.
So the theme of the movie appears to be that "the blues" may be fine and dandy for entertaining poor people and minorities, but if you want to defeat the Devil, you should attend a very expensive music school and learn European court music.

Re: Asshole...
Well, they do say that if you can catch a fly with chop sticks, then you can beat Steve Vai in a guitar duel.
Re: Asshole...
steve vai was not the devil, he was a protege of the devil. some african american actor played the devil. that was the guy that they met at the crossroads. and if i was in a duel for my life, i would certainly do anything i could to win.
that movie rules. i used to own it. then my dad taped over it with horse racing. asshole.
rock and roll

Re: Asshole...
That movie was okay until Steve Vai stuck his tight pants in the movie. Fuck Crossroads, we're going toe to toe in some way or fashion.
Re: Asshole...
This thread is wrong.
"I have always tried to present myself as the type of person who enjoys watching dudes fight other dudes with iron claws."
Re: Asshole...

Re: Asshole...
seriously, it seems pretty lame to just jack DUC's name like that...
unless you really are the same person, and you're just bored and wanting to have your own flame fight for fun. if so, that's really dorky yet kind of funny. but i doubt this is the case... in any event, give duc his name back!
