"Real men of genius" ads
haha these are good.
I just read today that the singer in those commercials is David Bickler, former frontman of Survivor. Ya know, "Eye of the Tiger" Rocky III.
Sounds like him now that I think about it. Good to see a one hit wonder having a sense of humor.

My friend Pete Stacker (http://petestacker.com/)is the voiceover on those. One of the best guys in the business (he also does the radio for Blue Man Group...and a bunch of other stuff). From what he says, they're a blast to work on.
My favorite bit is the coffee shop guy:
"Sure, you charge five bucks for a latte--it's putting out the tip jar that takes real guts!"

Some of you should remember these ads from 5 or 6 years ago when they were radio-only.

No, they've been here awhile. We've only just gotten around to talking about them on TapeOpMark wrote:You've only just got these!?

Before 9/11/01, they aired here as the "Real American Heroes" ads, but it was felt by the ad agency that to continue with the "heroes" motif after the WTC tragedy would be distasteful. So "Real Men of Genius" was adopted as the new tagline. A little silly, but true.

I've loved the radio spots for a while - never heard this one before today. But it's so true. We don't need no stinkin' soundchecks! (that's a quote, I'm not really a wedding band guitar player. Well I've played a few I guess. Never wore a mini tuxedo or bagged a bridesmaid though).

I found all the radio ads plus an article here.
