Perfect Sound Forever

Anyone have the new Pavement book? What are your thoughts? I'm a pretty big Pavement fan and am wondering if this book presents any unusual material or interesting bent. No store in SF seems to have it; I'm sure it rocks.

i read it. apart from having copies of original zine reviews for the old 7"s there wasn't much to it. i guess if you aren't that familiar with the band it would be interesting, but it's pretty slight overall, just not much that hadn't been covered in plenty of other mags/interviews/whatever. get it at a library maybe.

It seems like an odd choice for a book. If you watch the documentary on the DVD, it's not much of a sex, drugs and rock and roll story. The big scandals are getting boo-ed at Lollapalooza, and Malkmus smoking pot and picking slow songs as singles from Wowee Zowee.

Of course, seeing Nastanovich getting all trashed at a Kentucky Derby party and knocking shit over in his living room is pretty cool.
