Re: vice-presidential debates
a lot of people have said it's style vs. content... edwards having a very inexperienced career in comparison, but looking much more stylin or something.

Re: vice-presidential debates
From what I've heard on the tv new stations (minus Fox) Edwards' very sucessful career as a trial lawyer gives him a lot more experiance than Cheney in debating, and is favored to make him so frustrated that he'll explode on stage.....barring another heart attack.

Re: vice-presidential debates
I predict that Cheney is going to try to steer the discussion away from domestic issues and Edwards is call him on it. This is the only debate these guys are going to have and Edwards is not going to stand by and listen to Cheney invoke 9/11 all night.

I'm gonna watch just for the part where Cheney runs to the end of his leash and tries to chomp Edwards' neck.
Or the part where Karl Rove's henchmen pull the rope that dumps the bucket of pig's blood on John Edwards.
What?

In tonight's debate, the part of Dick Cheney will be played by Wilford Brimley.

vs.?
I'm looking forward to seeing the VP debates-- I hope there's a little more straight talk than there was last week (as if).

I knew Cheney was pretty sick, what with all the heart problems he's had. Is that why they're going to be seated?
I suspect this is going to be a really interesting debate, but then the veep debates usually are.

Re: vice-presidential debates
It probably will be a good debate. Both of these guys are good speakers ... in totally different ways. Edwards comes off fresh-faced and down-to-earth, but not stupid. Cheney's style is real low-key, intellectual and biting.
It'll be interesting.

No, they are being seated to make Cheney seem less threatening, and to prevent Edwards from pacing the room and engaging the crowd like he would in a courtroom.Scodiddly wrote:I knew Cheney was pretty sick, what with all the heart problems he's had. Is that why they're going to be seated?
