**SOLD*** Transformer Farm for mixdown - 5 pairs in 2U rack

Post by digitaldrummer » Wed Nov 24, 2010 5:59 pm

********SOLD*******

Selling my "Transformer Farm" that I just built. Honestly I'm too lazy to run mixes or tracks through these. I did it to test them and you can get some really cool results, but I usually just reach for a plugin (blasphemous I know...).

There are 5 pairs of transformers racked in 2U with TRS in and out so you can run mono or stereo mixes/tracks through them. I have the in/out labeled, but you can also run them "backward" to get different effects. They are not all 1:1 so you may get different gain, or the ability to saturate them quicker going one way vs. the other (I liked the Beyer's reversed). I also verified that phase is correct when it comes back.

I have pairs of Beyerdynamic, Shure, Yamaha (Tamura), another pair of Tamura, and some Jensen RE-11 (although they don't say Jensen so its posible they are a knockoff - I suspect they were a custom build for someone's console). All connections are Neutrik 1/4" TRS jacks so its pretty easy to patch in. And its totally passive!

Price dropped to $410 - I cover shipping (in the USA) and Paypal fees.

I know someone would love this under their tree... and of course in a rack.

Hey DigiDrum,

Could you possibly post some sound examples of "before & after," like vocals, guitar (acoustic and/or electric), and keys?

This sounds like a great idea, but it's hard to get a handle on what it might do for a mix or track without some samples...

it's really about experimenting. it may work for some tracks but not for others. but with that in mind if you want to hear a few samples I made (before and after 24b WAV), pm or email me.
