Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start FREE EP

Post by gradwellhouse » Tue Feb 01, 2005 10:19 am

So,
On Jan 7th my band Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start released a FREE, internet only, downloadable mp3 EP. I recorded/produced it and wanted to let everyone here know that it was available. I browse this MB pretty often and thought it was a good place to let everyone hear an indie studio/band release. Feel free to let me know what you think of both the songs and the recording. There is also a recording journal on the website so you can really nerd-out.

The EP has it's own site... http://gradwellhouse.com/internetep
and the studio's page is http://gradwellhouse.com, it has a ton of other bands mp3s as well.
up up down down's page is http://upupdowndown.org

I didn't have time to listen just yet..but I wanted to say I love the concept..and all the technical info as well as the lyrics..one thing that I didn't notice was a downloadable cover art which I think if you dont have would enhance the project..

this label http://www.comfortstand.com/ does free internet only music with downloadable art..check them out when you have a minute..some of the music is genius..I recommend "party fun with recorders" to start out..

also check out my free internet mp3 full length "golden bats" :

I stumbled on this a couple weeks ago and I must say it's been in my winamp playlist ever since. great stuff. Come tour out here, we'll play a show together!
I get satisfaction of three kinds. One is creating something, one is being paid for it and one is the feeling that I haven?t just been sitting on my ass all afternoon.

Neither here nor there... but thanks. I like this a lot, both the songs and the recording. I like big bands, lots of players. This has that sound to it. I think you'all should experiment with some alternative instrumentation (muted trumpets, strings--chamberlain-like, whatever). Maybe you do on your other stuff. What the hell do I know anyways.

I've got Golden Bats too, i'll post you some feedback after i've had the frame of mind to have a good listen. Sorry to hi-jack, but i got the link from here you see.
