http://www.xoxos.net/ has some bizarre, interesting plug-ins. The fx always seem a little weird to me, but I *love* his vst instruments.
Kjaerhus offers some nice, functional VST effects - the standard stuff, phasers, flangers, etc.

joel, maybe pull the magnus out of the SMEX link. There's lots of interesting stuff on that site people might not realize. Particularly the anechoic room simulator.

re: plug in softwre resources Applejack
Today the G5 at studio G refused to open Pro Tools, it would only display the dreaded DAE error -1.
After trying all ye olde tricks to get Pro Tools to wake up, I
downloaded a super cool program called APPLEJACK at
http://applejack.sourceforge.net/
This is a shell script for cleaning up the mess left by system crashes: disk directory errors, buggy caches, corrupted preferences, etc.
Ran the script and was amazed...
This program really worked for us today.
After restarting, Pro tools opened and ran without a hitch.
Thank you Applejack and Tom Cassell for sharing this one.
