STOLEN GEAR Bulletins

Post by joel hamilton » Wed May 09, 2007 5:34 am

I wanted to make a sticky for those of you who have had the unfortunate experience of having something stolen from you. Please post the items, and the serial numbers of the items here.

(edited)

Lets keep track of the bad dealers, and list gear we have had taken from us here... at least it will help a little I hope....

Apparently guitar effects makers MI Audio (not to be confused with M-Audio) were robbed earlier this month.

CASTANETS & JANA HUNTER's gear stolen in Tucson 6/23/07!

Post by j_howell » Sun Jun 24, 2007 11:17 am

Anybody knows anything, or sees any or Ray and Jana's stuff around please get in touch...you can reach Ray and or Jana via their respective Myspace pages, http://www.myspace.com/castanets http://www.myspace.com/janahunter (I think that's Jana's MS URL, at least...) or I can relay to them...

Gear theft sucks, especially when it happens to good people who make really really good music.

Thanks,
J

Subject All Our Shit Are Stole
Body: JANA HUNTER AND CASTANETS GEAR STOLEN
So, the story is, last night we played in tucson at solar culture.
afterward, we loaded our stuff up, went downtown, had a drink, and
went to a house to crash on the floor. en route, we damaged a door,
making it such that the door won't close and such that eventually,
before we return the vehicle to the rental company, we'll have to pay
on the order of 2 grand to replace the door.

seeing as how we had an unsecured vehicle, ray (castanets) slept in
the van. sometime during the night, some brave fuck(s) very quietly
opened the back door and took what they could carry. we assume their
were more than one of them given all the shit they managed to walk
away with. we're gathering what serial numbers we can, but in the
meantime, here's a rudimentary list:

JH gear-
fender classical guitar (ser.#9505151116)
new boss 20xl loopstation
boss reverb/delay pedal
original digitech whammy pedal
original b k butler tubedriver overdrive pedal
peavey 6 mixer (ser.#k0344300)
shure beta 98/s
custom flashlight circuit-bended thing

Castanets gear-
late 60's blue fender music master guitar
line 6 delay pedal
boss tremolo
mutron volume/wah pedal
boss tuner pedal
digitech metal master
ebow
slides/cables

all this after we had to fly our friend/drummer to the airport
yesterday morning so he could go to the hospital. pretty big bummer
all around.
-JH

So there's that. Anybody knows anybody who knows anything about this in Tucson or elsewhere let us know. Alright.

Not me, but a friend of my wife's in Austin, TX:

-----
Date: Jul 10, 2007 10:56 PM
Subject: My shop was robbed -please look out
Body: I came home from work this evening, July 10, 2007 to find that my workshop had been broken into. I live near Epoch coffee shop and I think they might have used their parking lot if they took stuff out back through the creek. If anybody in the Austin area sees the following for sale please let me know:

Music equipment:
David Eden 410XLT bass cabinet. 4-ohm with casters
David Eden World Traveller 550 head with an orca sticker on it
Ibanez Artcore AF75 hollowbody in tobacco sunburst. Has Gretsch Filtertron-like GFS pickups. Pretty distinctive
Crappy SX P-Bass without strings or even the pickguard attached
Crate guitar practice amp
iPod 20GB white. Not distinctive. Looks just like yours.

Power tools:
Bosch 1617 router with a seriously expensive solid carbide flush-cut bit
Dewalt 2.5hp pluge router
about $200 worth of router bits
Delta 20" scroll saw
Dewalt random oribital sander
Dewalt 4" angle grinder
Lots of little guitar related hand tools like nut files
Really nice boxed set of 4 squares
blue toolbox
lots of other tools and probably more I haven't noticed yet.

Thankfully they didn't steal the two basses I'm working on. That would have really, really sucked.

Chevin A3000 amps

Post by audionaut » Fri Nov 02, 2007 9:44 am

This happened on Aug 31, 2007. The folks at Kitchen Mastering in NC sold us a pair of Chevin Research A3000 amplifiers (great deal by the way) and Fed Ex'ed them to us. They never arrived. It's all good on either end because we got our money back and They filed a very fair insurance claim.
I sure am curious about those amps though.
FedEx claim that they attempted Delivery on Aug 30th (I was here all day, no one showed up). Then the package went out on the truck for delivery the following day and never heard from again.
Sounds like an inside issue at FedEx, as they were closed for a few days (holiday weekend) and then suddenly the amps could no longer be located.

As they are somewhat rare here in the states (especially in un-toured NEWish condition), If you happen to see a pair of A3000 for sale near the Chicago area, I'd love to inquire with the seller.
Thanks,
audionaut

2 guitars were stolen out of a locked storage closet in the chapel at my school. One was mine, one was a buddy of mine's. Who steals out of a chapel?
