Vespa ride please donate!!!

Post by joel hamilton » Mon May 12, 2008 6:17 pm

Please help out for this ride I am doing, to make people aware that too many of us do not have health insurance in this (music biz) field, and also to benefit Scott Harding, my good friend and a great engineer/producer for many many years.

Please check out the information:

http://www.vespacoast2coast.com

Thanks for any and all support. Email me with any questions.

Here is a list of the riders in this years cannonball:
http://www.scootercannonball.com/riders/

I am in the 250 class on my Vespa GTS 250, totally modded with custom exhaust, custom transmission upgrades, and a "secret" booster box that reprograms the electronic ignition/ EFI......

A quick synopsis of scotty's situation:

At 3am on Friday, February 15, 2008, music producer Scott Harding was the victim of a car crash, returning home from a late night mixing session. The cab he was riding in was broadsided by a stolen car; the impact crushed Harding?s T5 vertebrae, leaving him partially paralyzed. Scott's condition is serious and like many dedicated musicians/engineers he is without health insurance and is facing very large medical and legal fees.

The short term need to raise cash in order to handle Scott?s affairs is very real. His friends and the dedicated musical community that Scott has long been a part of quickly united, forming The Scotty Hard Trust, a special account which will help to handle Scott?s financial needs through private monetary donations.

Sorry for the brief thread hijack, but Joel - how do you like the vespa? I've been seriously thinking of finding one for a few months, but haven't been able to test drive any. You can PM me if you don't wanna clog up this very righteous thread with vespa-talk.

I really want to get some studio's names on my scooter, as sponsors.
Anyone interested should email me!!!
I am doing lots of PR for this ride, so the name would be seen by many.

Modern Vespa is a decent Vespa forum with a Tape Op friendly atmosphere.

The Scooter BBS is a vintage forum with a Gearslutz kind of atmosphere.

and...... bump

Thank you MJAU.
You are awesome.

Studios*** and engineers without health insurance:

This is for you also!

I will be doing a TON of PR soon, in the weekly papers across the country (along the route) and on NPR and the radio in general, many other outlets... there will be pictures run (where appropriate) with your studio name on my helmet/scooter/jacket.

Email me for details. Lets get this really rolling.

Sincerely,
-Joel
