Teach Yourself Electricity and Electronics by Stan Gibilisco.
I think this is a better first text than Art of Electronics, and easier to read than the other TAB books.
Some stuff to read if interested in DIY Gear
Funny that you mention this. the other day i decided to do a bit
of self-learning of my own. and did some book shopping online.
I didn't really know which books were best to get on the topics,
but I used my intuition. I noticed I ended up with a few on the list
already. which leads me to believe, I made a few wise choices..
anyone know of these? Can't comment on any of them though.
(I haven't read em yet) but here's the list none-the-less.
1. Electronic Projects for Musicians : Craig Anderton (Paperback, 1997)
2. Do-It-Yourself Projects for Guitarists : Craig Anderton (Paperback, 1995)
3. Tube Amp Talk for the Guitarist and Tech : Gerald Weber (Paperback, 1998)
4. Recording Studio Technology, Maintenance, and Repairs (Paperback, 2003)
