You have Daking listed, but I didn't see any 500 series modules on his website...

The Dramastic Audio Obsidian 500 sounds amazing! I just checked it out at Pro Audio Design.
Its the first stereo buss compressor for the 500 series.
You can also link 2 together for a quad buss compressor.

Online Database of 500 Series Units

Post by mrclean » Wed Apr 14, 2010 7:35 pm

You folks ever see this online database of 500 series units?

http://www.lunchboxhero.com/500seriesdb.html

Links on each entry to the manufacturer website, the unit's page on the website and a photo of the gear.

Worth bookmarking....

Well now we can to add Neve to the list of 500 series manufacturers:

A Neve API device kinda seems like the cat slept with the dog but I'm interested in seeing what it sounds like.

A couple of new cool additions:

http://www.xqpaudio.com Optical De-Esser and Optical Disrupter -very cool 2nd order harmonic distortion compressor

http://www.j-labaudio.com they make an optical limiter voiced on the LA-3A, with plug in opto's which can be ordered with various attack and release curves.

http://.www.cartecaudio.com PreQ5 mic pre based with hand wound transformer, high and low eq based around Pultec filters...

all very cool, reasonably priced and built right!
