Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
Jay Z - American Gangster sndtrk.

I needed some upbeat stuff to help with the sanding/priming/painting I'm doing in the kitchen.

Latest,

Lucinda Williams - excellent guitar work and songs;
Thurston Moore - SY all the way-sounding;
Mark Lanegan - loverly dark pop;
Robert Plant - world-musicish, great sounds and performances;
Roco DeLucca - bought it for the Tchad Blake production, what is awesome, don't care for the songs or singer;
U2 - how can this band be so under-rated? Only by being so omnipresent and annoying - it really is an excellent record.

For christmas I was given Inside Out, Nick Mason's account of his days in Pink Floyd. As I've been reading it, I usually put on a floyd album or bootleg from the era being discussed in the book. It's quite a good read - Mason is a keen writer with a fondness for cynicism and dry wit.

Rat Farm - the meat puppets lastest album (though a year or two old). I love those guys. Their last three albums are absolutely killer in my opinion.

Lately, it's been a lot of Bix Biederbecke.

These records right here

Jose James - No Beginning No End (Producer/played on by my favorite bassist pino palladino)
D'Angelo - Black Messiah (more pino bass)
Soulive & Karl Denson - Spark!
James Brown - Hot Pants
Air - Virgin Suicides Soundtrack (always impeccably produced and sonically beautiful)
Nicholas Payton - Numbers (dope as hell, if you dig jazz grooves, sit back, and enjoy)
