I've decided to by a PC. Just because their cheaper and I don't really care.
Which program is better though, Cubase or Logic 5? Or maybe Ableton Live 2.0?
Help?

logic 5 is a dead end on PC. after 5.5 it's mac-only. (current mac version is 6.1)

Yeah, I know that. But, Logic 5.5 is all I really need. Do I have to have to get 6 eventually?

Do you want track freezing? Then yes. And do you really want software with no foreseeable upgrades?recordingtheseas wrote:Yeah, I know that. But, Logic 5.5 is all I really need. Do I have to have to get 6 eventually?

I have both of them. I eventually settled on using Cubase. Mostly because I found Cubase was a easier for me to figure out.
From what I have read about Logic, is that it has the ability to be very personalized. Lots of options for pre-sets, etc... So, if that's your bag...
A few issues back in TapeOp, someone did some tests with Cubase, PTfree, and Wavelab. He found that Cubase had a slightly louder sound then the rest. An interesting read...
It was in issue #29, if you happen to have it lying around..
anyway, that's my 2 cents..
