Hideous Love-child of Ben Folds/Elvis Costello/Wilco/Weezer

Post by mchammer » Thu Jun 26, 2003 10:25 am

I noticed my friend Andy had posted his songs up here for some feedback so I thought I might do the same. The album is nearly complete so I'm curious to hear what people think of what little is online.

Thanks for any feedback.

I feel kinda cheap...everyone stops to take look but nobody tells me how they feel.

This draws a scary comparison to my dealings with women.

Haha.

Not my genre, really, but it's well done. Gotta say, I HATE mp3.com, tho. Tons of popups, stupid flash shit you can't rid of, etc.

Yeah mp3.com grates on the nerves. They've gotten better and making it hard to figure out how to close the pop-ups.

Don't imagine Mr. Folds and Weezer having sex...just imagine the outcome.

I mean...you wouldn't eat Burger King if you had to watch them make it.

this has been mentioned on other people's posts, but, don't be afraid to let people have mp3s. i didn't listen to any of the songs, because I can't stand real media. Mp3s are great, because someone feels like they are getting a little gift...and if they like it...it might make it's way onto a mix tape...so even one song makes a nice little word of mouth (or ear) promotion.

So I went to your website...which is excellently done by the way...and listened to a few clips...which didn't really give me a clear view of the music...although it did sound very well recorded.

ditto on the go ahead and post mp3s on your site thing. especially since you are out in tecumseh... good way to reach the people in chicago and detroit and cleveland and so on...

the song clips seemed pretty good though. but i can never tell with this sort of music till i listen to it a few times. i love cheesy pop (i even own multiple mathew sweet records and acutally listen to them), but i am also scared by my love of cheesy pop.

Thanks for the kind words on the recording...glad the hard work paid off.

If you got to the mp3.com page now all the songs should be available for download. I just went through and changed the status of all of them.

The girl who made my homepage disappeared so I haven't been able to change much on it...kinda sucks.

Thanks Kristopher.

"Caroline" and "Miss Michigan" are definitely two of my favorite production moments.

I won't tell you the inspiration for the backing vocals on "Miss Michigan". I fear I'll be killed.

(Meatloaf's "You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth"...the rest was Built To Spill-ish for the most part)
