Raymond -
I use CEP 1.2 [Haven't uped to the next one yet] and Soundcrafts M8 and it works really well for both recording and mixing. So if you have questions ask away- I have about a years' experience with my system as it is.

I see, so you mix through your M8? That limits you to 8 channels of audio right?
I'm looking for a mixer I can hook up to the USB hub of my PC, but tell me your process.
Cheers,
Raymond

Are you looking for a controller or a dedicated hardware mixer? Most companies make a controller or another, just check around for midi controllers.

Something like this?

There are a hundred other controllers out there ranging from $150-thousands of dollars that can do the job for you.

I'm making the assumption you're talking about mixing w/in the computer but just having a control surface to make it easier (instead of dealing w/ a mouse). If you're talking about mixing outside the computer you'll need a big audio interface card + an analog mixer or a digital mixer (and digital i/o from/to the computer).

Hey...I have been really interested in the soundcraft M-series. I'm using a mackie right now. Tell me it's a great idea to dump the 24 channel mackie for the M12??!!! I'll live with limited external mixdown options if the thing will turn me into a mackie hater!!
