New record from The Weigh, mp3's

Post by downtownsoundnc » Thu Aug 07, 2003 8:52 am

Please check out the new record from The Weigh, a North Carolina folk punk band with alt-country and surf-punk flavors.
Here's the link with mp3's and press:

Please take a listen and criticize, we need some comments! We'd also love to have some gig help and/or trade shows. Thanks! - Brian

How was the bass recorded on the recond song? I like the wierd tone. Sounds like a Tuba.

Thanks, we had a lot of fun getting weird sounds for the whole record. The bass on that tune was an old Fender P fretless with a J pickup on the bridge. Ran it through an old RCA tube preamp that has about 3 billion db of gain. No compression other than the preamp artifacts and straight to tape. I probably boosted some 250hz or around there during mix but I'm not sure. - Brian
