Here is my band's latest. We recorded it about a week ago. It hasn't been mastered yet. I would appreciate any comments, even if you think it sux.

I tend to like off-color/off the beaten path stuff, so I kinda like it. I do have trouble with where the lyrics sit in the mix but overall I like the drive.

Okay, here goes.

I think the vocals could use some more compression and there is a particular frequency that jumps out a little harsh like. They fall in and out and compression would fix that up.

That's the main thing. All other nit-picks are slightly subjective. That said, I would enjoy some more attack on the kick. It just kinda thumps as it is.

It sounds like a band I was in for a while. It was tough having that style because people had a hard time deciding if they liked it or not. It's almost post punk edgy but it's got a 30-something feel to it.

BTW, the mastered version sounds fine.

Thank you. The person who mastered it said the same thing about the compression on the vocals. I compressed it on the way in, but not enough because I hate overcompression. I guess I over-compensated for the over-compression. Heh.

As to the style, this song is a little different than most of our other stuff. Anyway, I hope people decide they like it.
