I plan on upgrading my mBox to a Digi002R at some point, but probably not for awhile. In the meantime, I want to get an AD/DA converter that has 8 ins/outs, so I can hook my new mixer's outs to it and record with other apps until I can afford the Digi002.

The catch is, the box needs to be able to work with the 002's ADAT lightpipe in. I have a chance to get an MOTU 2408 MKI with the 324 card for like $200 and want to make sure that it will work okay with the 002 down the line (assuming I don't abandon DIGI products after this). Not concerned about being limited to 44/48k. I also don't need preamps, because I plan on using my mixer's preamps. So the Presonus units are out.

Anyone have any advice? Anyone know if ADAT lightpipe is pretty universal or are there version issues that might impede compatability with the 002?

Thanks,

-Bret
