simple latency issue in dp3

Post by honeytone » Sat Jan 29, 2005 5:13 pm

i have an 828 and am running dp3 - when i record audio, there is a 200 ms delay before i hear it when monitoring off of the mixing board. why is this? how do i remedy it so i can start monitoring what is recorded in real time?? thanks for reading.

2 things:
the second one is to go to "configure audio system" --> "configure hardware driver" (sorry, forgot which menu its under in dp3... audio?) and lower your buffer size. The faster your machine, the lower you can go without glitches, and the less latency you'll hear. BUT... there will always be some latency, and your machine will have to work much harder with lower buffer settings, so this is where the other thing comes in:

go to "configure audio system" --> "input monitoring mode" and select "direct hardware playthrough".
