hangups while tracking in dp 4.52

Post by dhaworth » Mon Jan 31, 2005 10:33 am

Has anyone else experienced long (30 second or so) hangups (beach balls) while tracking in dp 4.52? Since upgrading from 4.12, which has been GREAT except for this issue, after recording a track and hitting play/record, the app seems to stall and starts beach balling me. After about 30 seconds, the play/record button illuminates, but it's not playing/recording. I can then hit stop, then play/record again and it may or may not do the same thing. Sometimes I have to manually scrub the play head around a bit (jiggle it) to get it working again. It does this even when working on brand new files with 3 or less tracks. Anyone have any idea what this could be? Buffer time? Auto-latency compensation? It's really frustrating...and I'm taking it out on my poor mouse;) Thanks!

Solved this issue ( I think) thanks to unicornnation.net, which is apparently hated here? Or at least by a couple bitter folks. Anyways here is the thread if anyone cares:
